Newcastle United attacker Almiron is back to the Benton base of the Magpies after his exertions with Paraguay at the Copa America this summer. He was part of the Paraguay squad that lost out to Peru at the quarterfinal stage.

Paraguay national team star Almironcould feature for the Magpies during the friendly games later this week. He could play a part in at least one of the two friendly games. Newcastle United are away to Burnley behind closed doors in the first of those friendly encounters before facing Norwich City at home.

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has an idea of what his starting XI would look like for the first game of the new Premier League campaign next weekend. This is despite not making any headway in the transfer market. In an interview with Chronicle Live, Bruce revealed that he knows what he would like as his first XI.

Bruce and Newcastle United will face West Ham United in their first game of the new Premier League campaign.

Apart from Paraguay international Almiron, Bruce stated that the likes of star striker Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin would be involved for the remaining part of preseason. All the three players were absent for the Burton Albion game last week Friday. The three players missed out on the 2-0 win over Burton Albion.

Newcastle United have blown hot and cold in their preseason games this summer from suffering a disappointing defeat at the hands of non-league York City to scraping a 3-2 victory over Doncaster Rovers. The win over Doncaster Rovers preceded the 1-1 draw with Rotherham United before they won convincingly against Burton Albion.
